Evansville, IN — The Evansville Police Department is investigating a series of overnight vehicle break‑ins reported across multiple East Side neighborhoods early Tuesday morning.
According to EPD, several residents discovered their vehicles had been entered and rummaged through, with personal items reported missing in some cases. Officers believe the incidents occurred during the late‑night and early‑morning hours.
Police have increased patrols in the affected neighborhoods and are urging residents to take extra precautions, including:
- Locking all vehicles, even when parked in driveways
- Removing or hiding valuables
- Leaving exterior lights on when possible
- Reporting any suspicious activity immediately
EPD is also asking residents with home security cameras or doorbell footage from overnight to review their recordings and share anything unusual with investigators.
